Changing Lives Beyond the Operating Room.

Keynote Speaker • Breast Surgical Oncologist • Healthcare Leader • Community Advocate

I believe medicine is about far more than treating disease; it’s about restoring confidence, building trust, and helping people discover strength they didn’t know they possessed.

My story is still being written, and I hope it inspires others to lead with excellence, live with integrity, and use their gifts to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those around them.

My Story

Camelia Lawrence MD, FACS

Born in Jamaica. Made in America. Driven by Purpose.

My story is one of faith, resilience, and the unwavering belief that extraordinary things are possible when we dare to dream beyond our circumstances.

At the age of 14, I immigrated to the United States with a dream and a determination to build a life defined by purpose. Before becoming a fellowship-trained breast surgical oncologist, I was an eighth-grade science teacher who discovered that education has the power to transform lives. Today, whether I am caring for patients, leading healthcare teams, or standing on a stage before an audience, that mission remains the same; to educate, empower, and inspire.

As a physician, healthcare leader, and keynote speaker, I have dedicated my career to advancing breast health, championing health equity, developing courageous leaders, and strengthening communities through meaningful engagement. My experiences in medicine have taught me that the greatest challenges often reveal our greatest capacity for courage, compassion, and growth.

I believe leadership is not defined by titles but by service. Success is not measured solely by accomplishments, but by the lives we uplift along the way. Every keynote I deliver is grounded in authentic storytelling, practical wisdom, and actionable strategies that inspire individuals and organizations to embrace uncertainty, lead with integrity, and live with intention.

My journey from humble beginnings to the operating room, healthcare leadership, the boardroom, and the keynote stage is proof that our circumstances do not define our destiny. I hope my story reminds others that with vision, perseverance, and purpose, anything is possible. After all, a humble begining is no barrier to greatness.
